I am so excited to start another year! As I go into my seventh year of teaching, fifth in third grade, I am amazed at how the time has flown by. There are always new experiences and each child in my classroom teaches me something new. I cannot wait to see the learning happen this year, both by the students and myself!
Third grade is a big transition for the students. They physically move to the other end of the school with all the “big” kids. They are also given more responsibility and take a greater sense of ownership in their schoolwork.
In the Goodness Fruit Stand this year, students will be pushed to try new things and make new discoveries. I am excited to come along beside each child and push them to his/her full potential. Throughout all of the subjects, the common theme of growing goodness will be pursued. The students learn that showing goodness is much more than being “good.” It is learning the true nature of God and pursuing Him in everything we do. As we explore language, reading, math, science, and history, we will learn how goodness was predicted, protected over time, provided through Jesus, and proclaimed by what we say and do!
